Rooibos, known as “Red Tea,” is a naturally caffeine-free herbal plant that grows only in the Cederberg region of South Africa. The indigenous Bushmen (Khoisans) began harvesting the leaves from the Aspalathus linearis plant many centuries ago. The Khosians used the leaves primarily for health remedies that included relieving colic in babies and helping with asthma. Rooibos is a member of the legume plant family, Aspalathus linearis, with bright green, needle-like leaves that turn a distinctive red color upon traditional processing. Rooibos is subtly sweet by nature with an earthy, honey flavor.

Loose leaf tea is sold by the ounce. If you want more than one ounce, simply increase the number.
