Guayusa (gwhy-you-sa)(Ilex guayusa) is a native Amazonian tree leaf that has been brewed like tea for thousands of years by indigenous communities. A member of the holly genus, it is related to Yerba Mate’ and Yaupon. Containing abundant caffeine and a large amount of antioxidants, Guayusa offers clear, focused energy—what the native Kichwa people call “mental strength and courage.” The aroma is rich and oceanic with molasses and chicory notes. Guayusa has a much sweeter taste than mate’ due to it’s lack of tannic acid, which also allows for long steeping without going bitter.

Japan Hojicha "Roasted" Green Tea

Our Japan Hojicha is made by roasting Bancha leaves. Bancha is derived from the lower leaves on the plant, which tend to have lower caffeine levels. The roasting turns its leaves to a chocolatey brown and reduces the amount of caffeine further, making it ideal to drink in the evening and after meals. The flavor is buttery, smooth, toasty and slightly smoky.
